We have to admit that Europe has been under something of a cloud recently. The euro has been battered and the markets driven to record lows whilst in England the voters decided that they didn’t like any of the candidates for prime minister and for once they got what they wanted – none of the above. Those trying to travel were under the rather more literal cloud of volcanic ash that threatened all the arrival and departure plans of our group. But the Taylors and their friends are nothing if not resilient and all made the first dinner in Albi on 10 May even if the last to arrive were eating asparagus while others had already moved on to Tiramisu. No matter – the gang is all here.
